This bright and colorful design includes poppies, reminiscent of the mother's California roots. The red horse on the vine honors some Swedish heritage, where these colorful carved and painted Dala horses are presented as gifts to children. After this mother found me on the web, and mentioned our intended project to her mother-in-law, she was surprised to discover that I had created her in-laws' ketubah many years ago. I just love these connections, the gift of being involved in families' life-cycle events for such a long time.
