Ruby's parents wanted to include words that recall the special relationships they each had with past family members who were particularly important in their lives, people after whom Ruby is named. Having this on her wall will help stimulate stories that can help her know and connect to her ancestors. In addition to Judaic symbols (torah, mezuzah, Shabbat candles, and a chanukiyah) hanging in the tree are the names of Ruby's four older sibings.
